Dear Prospective NIAC Member,

Thank you for your interest in the Nuclear Industry Assessment Committee (NIAC). To meet membership requirements for joining NIAC you must conform to the NIAC Charter membership criteria that your company's QA Program comply with 10CFR50 Appendix B or an equivalent DOE Program, and have a certified Lead Auditor, by written examination, whose qualifications meet ASME NQA-1, 2S-3, or ASME NQA-1 Part I Requirement 2 Section 303, or ANSI N45.2.23, and sign the NIAC Membership Agreement form.

The NIAC membership meets twice a year; a non-mandatory meeting every June and our mandatory annual membership meeting held every November. Our mid-year General Membership meeting is scheduled in conjunction with the annual NUPIC Vendor Interface Committee Meeting held every June. The November meeting's emphasis is on Auditing Services activities including: training, internal auditing of the membership records, compliance issues, and the planning/scheduling process of subsupplier audits for the next calendar year.     To ensure applicants for NIAC membership are actively participating in the Auditing Services process, enrollment period for membership begins after the NIAC November General Membership Meeting continuing through July 31st for the upcoming year. No later than August 1st all documents for membership must be found satisfactory as defined in the NIAC Charter requirements and dues paid to the NIAC Treasurer. All applicants for membership outside this enrollment period will be processed per the NIAC Charter membership requirements, however only allowed to be assigned an Auditing Services Assessment in the future year NIAC Scheduling Process.

    i.e. Joining between November 10, 2012 and July 31, 2013, the membership is for the participation in 2014 audit schedule and obtaining database assessments. If there is a need to obtain a maximum of 2 completed NIAC member assessments for the 2013 year or before from the database, we need your commitment for 2 years of membership dues.

Note: Your audit records will be required to be uploaded again after August 1 for audit by the formal annual audit team so that your company can participate in the auditing process for your year of membership eligibility.

  • Read, accept and attach a copy of the NIAC Charter by completing the NIAC Membership Agreement form
  • Attach a copy of the two completed audit checklists with your company name, QA policy information, Supplier audit procedure and Lead Auditor procedure, (links are at the bottom of this page)
  • Attach a copy of your policy statement or similar statement from your QA Program, which commits compliance with the applicable elements of 10CFR50 Appendix B or DOE Program regulatory requirement in the space provided on the Agreement form
  • Attach a copy of your supplier Audit Procedure
  • Attach a copy of your Lead Auditor Certification Procedure
  • Attach a complete copy of one (1) of your Lead Auditor Certification Record package including all records that support the certification.
  • Scan these documents into files no larger than 8 MB and upload these files utilizing the upload feature below.

Once these application documents are uploaded, the NIAC Secretary will confirm the documents have been received and the New Member Review Committee will proceed with a cursory review to see if the documents satisfy NIAC enrollment requirements. A Review Committee member may have to contact your company to submit addition information. Once enrollment requirements have been satisfied the Secretary will contact your company and provide instructions for payment of dues. Once dues payment is confirmed by the Treasurer the Secretary will counter sign the membership agreement and provide your company with further instructions.
